AIBS and ActionBioscience.org participate in the 52nd
national convention of the National Science Teachers
Association in early April
Washington, DC. The National Science Teachers
Association (NSTA) national convention, “the largest
gathering of science educators in the world,” takes place
April 1–4 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta,
Georgia. More than 12,000 educators are expected to attend.
The event features 1,200 learning sessions and workshops, a
resource-rich products and services exhibition,
world-renowned speakers and presenters, and field trips. For
more information about the convention, visit
www.nsta.org.
Attendees can learn about AIBS, its educational outreach
programs, and its online education resource
ActionBioscience.org by visiting the AIBS booth, #856, in
the Exhibitor’s Hall at the Georgia World Congress Center.
Susan Musante, AIBS Education Outreach Program Manager, and
Oksana Hlodan, Editor of ActionBioscience.org, will be
present at the booth to speak with visitors and hand out
informational material.
In addition, Oksana Hlodan is scheduled to give a
presentation, “Issues and Internet in Class Activities,” on
Thursday, April 1, at 1:00 PM, in the Riviera room at the
Atlanta Marriott Marquis. The presentation focuses on how to
use issues-based scientific resources from the Internet in
classroom activities, and how to evaluate the usefulness and
credibility of online scientific information.
