The Gateway to Education Materials (GEM) chooses ActionBioscience.org as a featured collection in October 2004

A U.S. Department of Education initiative, The Gateway to Educational Materials (GEM) is a digital library offering educators access to Internet-based lesson plans, instructional units and other educational materials. GEM’s database includes collections of materials that are already available on various federal, state, university, non-profit, and commercial Internet sites. GEM, founded in 1996, is a nonprofit consortium membership organization that hopes to become the world’s leading metadata cooperative. (see http://thegateway.org/)

ActionBioscience.org’s collection of articles and lessons were added to GEM’s database two years ago. On October 13, 2004, GEM chose ActionBioscience.org as its featured collection, announcing its choice prominently on its home page. By clicking this announcement, visitors were taken to a list of previously featured collections, presented in reverse chronological order at http://www.thegateway.org/news/featuredcollections/.
