Washington, DC. The School Library Journal (SLJ) named ActionBioscience.org as its “site of the week” on February 17, 2004. SLJ serves librarians who work with young people in school and public libraries. The print journal and its online version give librarians information about managing libraries, from creating high-quality collections to understanding how technology can assist learning. The journal was founded in 1954 and is published in New York City.
SLJ’s description of ActionBioscience.org reads:
High School biology teachers and students will find a lot of great material at this site, which offers information on issues from cloning to the environment. Created by the American Institute of Biological Sciences, [it’ll provide] you…[with] terrific articles and lesson plans on topics such as bioengineering and the risks of consuming genetically engineered crops, as well great ideas for comparing evolution and creationism.
