Robert, I think publishers are never going to do the job cause their bottom line is profit. The best way to get real science taught is to upgrade teacher's knowledge and skills in workshops and summer courses. The teacher is the message giver, not the textbook. A scientifically-literate teacher can supplement or correct the info in a lousy textbook.

It really bugs me that textbook publishers think they can get away with publishing crap. I have heard so many things lately about how all books in all subjects just don't do the job... how am I supposed to get a good education, with underpaid teachers and poorly written books?
